I have 2x intake on the front panel, 1x exhaust on top, 1x exhaust on back for my R4. Thank you for posting this though, I just checked my front panel and the dust filter was ****ed.

I had the non windowed R4 for around a year with the following set up:
Intake: 140mm fans Front, Bottom, Sidepanel. Exhaust: 140mm fan in the rear and corsair h100i mounted in the top. |

after much consideration, i decided to not replace my mobo, CPU and ram. its an old i5 2500k overclocked but to be honest, it still does a fine job and i don't think that it needs replacing just yet. |

Do you guys know of a good desktop ATX case that isn't this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119265
I'd prefer something more closed/silent if it exists... Thanks! |

Can I get some thoughts? Video editing, no gaming. I thought of waiting for skylake, but the motherboards and DDR memory premiums ruin the cost/performance benefit. Quote:

Just saw something on /r/buildapcsales that crucial ddr4 is on sale. Got me thinking of the 5820k option again. The cost difference is 'only' 150 dollars.

Also, disable TRIM on that 850 drive until Samsung figures out why it's been trimming valid data vs invalid on some systems. |

Nah, those are both towers... I want something to sit sideways on the shelf by my monitor... I need something more like an HTPC case if possible, but one that can fit a full ATX motherboard and 120mm fans...
Something like this... but I'd love it to not be that expensive or flimsy... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112335 Possibly a super tiny ATX tower like this one... I kinda dig the reverse power supply mount... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112331 . Last edited by AcquaCow; 07-18-2015 at 02:00 AM. |

Ah well you listed that HAF and thats a big mother ****ing case. Just browse the cases on newegg that are HTPC oriented then.

alright quick update:
got the case, moved everything from the Corsair into the R5 and everything is up and running. i think that there is something wrong with my case though as i can't seem to be able to mount the second 140mm fan on the front, the screws just won't go in. i also tried moving the one from the front top to the front bottom and again, the screws won't go in. for now, i just mounted 2x 120mm fans at the front instead. now i have: 2 x 120mm front as intake 1 x 140mm bottom as intake 1 x 140mm exhaust H80i in rear in push pull the case is fairly quiet and temps are nice and low (32 degrees idle with 55 degrees max while gaming). gpu is also nice and cool. i *might* take out the top mounted fan and see how it effects things. |

I got the mobo, psu, ssd, and hdd in my case last night. I was being a dumb ass and installed my mobo with the port protectors still on. When I look it off the risers that the mobo sits on came out of the case. It was a pain in the ass.
I ordered a Cooler Master 212 evo and am getting (seemingly) conflicting info about thermal paste application. Have you guys only applied it to the cpu, or do you follow the heat tube/ridge instruction too and apply it to the contact surface of the cooler as well? I'm using Arctic Silver 5. |

Also as a forewarning regarding Artic Silver, there will be some burn-in time so you will initially see some higher temperatures and after a while they will settle in to a nice amount. Learned that the hard way a long time ago after I reapplied the paste about 9001 times. |

I'm getting the urge to do something to my computer. I just don't know what. I think k the next jump is either i7, since I do a lot of media stuff or a 980ti just cause. The other option is to finally build a custom loop. But that should likely come after the proc upgrade.
