Ok i got my 06 sti cluster working on my 05 wrx. I had to swap the wires to get the dimmer to work the right way. Also as i am adjusting the brightness it does not show ILL.1-5 on the odometer. Does the 06 cluster not do this?

No, the 06-07 STi Cluster does not show the ILL.

Is throwing in a 04 USDM STi cluster into a 04 WRX pretty much a straight swap?
From what I've read, the only things that don't work are the Rear Diff Light and the temperature sensor. My tachometer is busted and I'd like to know if this can be easily done before I lay down the cash to pick up one of these things.

Please include something in the top post about cluster swaps VOIDING your warranty. Some know this, some do not, but a cluster swap will void 100% of your warranty, no ifs, ands, or buts. And by void, I mean void....it even encludes voiding your paint warranty!

Which is fraud, and also voids your warranty.

Actually I heard of some dealerships being able to put the exact mileage in the clusters and therefore, should not void warrenty, since a dealership would be doing it, and they back their work up.

What's my best bet on getting a STI cluster in my 03 2.5 RS?

What do I have to modify to get it to work?

Thanks

Edit: with more google research I see that 04 cluster will work best, only wires you have to moddify is the DIMM ones if you don't care about the outside temp and rear diff sensors working right?

Theres not a lot of STI to bugeye swap threads that I could find, althought my searching skills might not be to good

Here's what I did: I flashed the new STI cluster to my original WRX mileage. I'm keeping my old cluster, and if there's major warranty work, I'm just going to get it reflashed to my current mileage and have that reinstalled.

One would think, but that is wrong as well. In fact, a Moderator and Subaru employee here did this. He did the swap and generated 90567 pieces of official dealership paperwork to document the swap. He had a warranty claim and SOA immediately VOIDED 100% of his warranty. No lie. I believe it was North Ursulia that this happened to.

The '04 USDM STI combination meter into an '03 WRX as I stated in one the first threads regarding this does work. I posted a schematic of what I fabbed, and to date , and I mean today, it still operates without a hitch.
I haven't figured out why it worked for some and not for others.
I can only reference you back to theat schemtic I built.

Mileage in these cars are stored in the ECU? If it is, I can't see how it would void your warranty. Or you refering to taking it to a dealership and saying "hey, I changed my cluster... can you put my original odometer reading on it?". Which is just asking for trouble, IMHO.

Mileage is stored on the cluster itself. Which is why I and a few others have sent it over to tacomaspeedometer to get reprogrammed.

I've got an 07 STi cluster on the way for my 06 WRX. I blew up my tranny last week and am swapping to a 6 speed with all the goodies. Has anyone tried hooking up a cluster with a 6 speed installed and gotten the DCCD etc lights working?

Does anyone know what model JDM cluster doesn't have the defi startup and doesn't have a shift light/rev switch on it?

my V7 doesnt do the defi sweep, but its got the shift light.

i think as long as its GD and V7+ it will atleast have the shift light unless its just a plain ol WRX one.

The one I have here is a STi one (has the logo in the center) is red, but doesn't do the defi sweep and has plugs where the shift light and rev switch are meant to be.

It also doesn't have the outside temperature display.

Odd to me...

Swapped an 07 STi cluster into my 06 WRX TR per WRFX's instructions. Temp gauge stuck at 43 as expected. Cruise control doesn't seem to work suddenly. Light comes on and stays on but car won't hold speed. I did this and a 6 speed swap at the same time so myabe it isn't cluster related?

Shift light works but no shift buzzer? Unit beeps when setting it but doesn't beep at shift points. Is this something I'm doin
