GET THE Onkyo 505!!! HDMI !!!!
http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR505...1290503&sr=8-9 239 w/ free shipping. it's the best bang for the buck. stop looking for anything else you dolt! ..but if you're a cheap bastard I would go with the Yamaha HTR-6030BL (NO HDMI) http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-HTR-603...1290503&sr=8-1 179 w/ free shipping. but onkyo all the way. looks like it does, and I like onkyo (except for the receiver that came with my OT recommended HTIB setup that blew its power supply after 2 years).
Looks like the 605 is actually a step down from the onkyo i have now, but hte onkyo I have now won't do analog-digital conversion for hdmi output. The 705 looks like it adds some functionality an additional hdmi input for $100 more, I'm not sure 2 HDMI inputs on the 605 will be sufficient for the end state of my gear. Then again, in the end state im going to need 4 hdmi inputs and that isn't even going to be possible... I'm really holding out until I can stomach dropping $1350-1500 on the Denon AVR-3808CI... |

yeah I just saw that the 605 is 399.99 at bhphotovideo.... hmmm... Still, I don't think 2 HDMI inputs is going to cut it for me for any longer then 3-6 months.

yeah, as I stated in the post just above this, the whole thing im trying to do is eliminate cable clutter by replacing all my component gear that I can with hdmi and the stuff I can't via an analog to digital converting receiver. I have WAYYY too many cables right now with 4 component video sources and one hdmi source.
