Not sure if this is only on the sport model or just how the trans is.

I’m actually really happy with the performance of the cvt so far, no complaints.
i've driven a friend's '13 Sport (it was a few years ago) and i don't think your '12 Sport's throttle is any different than my '12 Limited.

i don't think the '12 is jerky, but things just seem smoother when i give it a good punch on the throttle. as i said before, i doubt the '19 would be any faster 0-60 or 1/4mi racing...

yet, one obvious difference is how they handled the warm up phase of the car. i absolutely hate the way the throttle behaves when the car is "cold." the '19 revs higher at idle, but drives much more smoothly under acceleration those first few minutes of "warm up."

my '12 is zippy enough...the '19 just feels a little more refined.

for a wild comparison: my wife's '18 Honda CR-V has a much quicker 0-60, but it's a slug on initial acceleration, but then it really gets going after a bit of a lackluster first step off the line. my '12 feels faster at first, but having driven both enough, i know that if i really needed to get up to highway speed quickly, slapping the CR-V into Sport mode would give a much quicker start and it would be much faster to 60 than my Impreza.

i guess my point is, i like how they "tuned" the CVT and throttle on the '19 a lot.

anyway, sorry to clutter this thread with all my drivel here... bottom line is i like the 2019 and all the improvements made the next generation add to a nicely updated car. can't complain about my 2012. it's given me 8 years of good service and i hope to get at least 5 more.
