Cause: Subaru says it is the 'computer that talks to all other computers" has shorted out. Say that adding a radar detector via fuse tap to auto dimming mirror and dashcam to 12v fuse (to toggle parking mode) and door locks (constant power) caused computer to short out. the door locks and the 12v plug still work in the car.

Modifications: Radar detector (passport max) and dashcam (panorama X2)

Reason Given For Denial: TBA

Your Story: So I bought the car Dec 2014, had the radar detector in my BRZ so I moved it over to the impreza. Beginning of the summer added the dashcam due to parking worries. Drove around for months without issue. then fob stopped working. checked fuses, all were good. alarm goes off and does not allow for a reset. had it towed to subaru,

The rep states that "If the overall resistance in the cars electrical system changes it could short out the computer". They claim issue has been happening with folks with aftermarket tail lights or those of added LED lighting.

They ordered a new computer (still have not told me exactly what its technical name is, I have asked for it). Awaiting its arrival, they said that Subaru may not honor the repair due to aftermarket stuff.
Find out if they pulled any codes from the BIU computer ( Body Integrated Unit). If so, let me know what they were.

What exactly is the car doing / not doing?

It is very possible that hard wiring the radar detector and camera could have caused this issue, but I need more information
