My 2017 WRX mileage is so much better than the Ascent, with a lifetime mpg average over 51000 miles at 26.6 mpg. The past 9970 miles on the WRX trip-meter shows an average of 26.7 mpg. I can drive from Colorado Springs to Boulder CO and see over 35 mpg highway, sometimes 37-38 mpg. I open her up every once in a while, but behave most of the time in-between - a 131 mph speeding ticket 10 years ago was a wake up call.

For the Acscent, although the past almost 10000 miles on trip-meter A is about 23.7 mpg, trip-meter B is showing about 5500 miles with an average of around 20.5 mpg. But that lower MPG reflects 2 of the last 3 camper towing trips that we took in the past 90 days.

One towing trip to Ridgeway with 4500 lbs total was 600 miles round trip, and the trip to Steamboat Lake with about 4000 lbs was about 400 miles round trip. That would mean if we did 1000 miles at 12 mpg towing then the other 4500 typical miles were at 24.5 mpg to get that average. My wife's commute to work and our trips to see family include a lot of highway driving, maybe 2/3 of our total driving. So, I'm guessing my wife is seeing close to 20 mpg city and 26 highway. Her Tribecca was doing about 19/24 mpg, 21 combined.
