You could've rocked the awesome temp tag (those numbered red squares taped to your back window).

I just think it's retarded to have to pay for registration in another state, then pay AGAIN in California, even though it's still valid in another state. When it comes time for renewal, then pay good ol' CA DMV.

FWIW, I had a buddy buy a car from AZ. It came with a 90 day temp AZ registration. At the end of the 90 days, he went to register it at the CA DMV. He told the DMV that he bought it 80 days ago. The DMV wanted him to pay a penalty. The DMV clerk told my buddy to write down last week's date on the transfer papers to avoid the penalty
