I have an 07 WRX and my power steering started going out. I bought a replacement pump, installed it and got everything ready except the bump up to the banjo bolt. Started threading the bump and it cracked the threading for it. Don't understand why it was so weak, but I didn't even feel the resistance for it to have broken. Regardless, I guess my question is, can I operate the vehicle with a disconnected pump for a few hundred miles to get to work in two days without replacing? I've operated various vehicles without power steering and will be fixing it regardless soon. It seems to idle funny so I don't know if it throws the crank shaft off because of timing for resistance of the pump. Thank you!
