I'm still undecided on the 2nd pit stop for Sainz. I mean it would have been heroic for him to not pit, put a gap of greater than 5 seconds on Perez and Russell, and maintain that >5 gap on his old medium tires to come home 3rd even after penalty applied. However, since he pitted fairly early in the race, all I could conjure up during this point in the race were memories of what happened to Raikkonen at one grand prix in 2012 where he was in 2nd on really old tires in the closing stages of the race. And in the span of like 2 laps he went backward from 2nd to somewhere well outside of the points. That would have been a hero to zero moment for Sainz if he sat 3rd and then last few laps wound up behind Stroll and Vettel...
